Driver Guide

Everything you need to know to request quotes from several repair shops, pick the best one, follow the repair and sort out any surprise, from sign-up to the end of the warranty.

1. Create your account

The account is free and takes a few minutes. You only need it to request quotes and follow your repairs.

  1. Start with sign-up

Tap "I need a repair" on the home page or "Sign up" at the top of the site and choose the driver account.

  2. Fill in your details

Name, e-mail, phone number and a password.

  3. Confirm your e-mail

Open the link we send to your e-mail. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder or use "Send the confirmation link again".

  4. Add your car

Under Vehicles, enter make, model, year and registration plate. You can add several cars and see the service history of each one.

2. Request quotes

The request describes your car's problem and goes to nearby repair shops that do that kind of work. Requesting quotes costs you nothing.

  1. Choose the car

Select one of your saved cars or add a new one on the spot.

  2. Type of service

Mechanics, bodywork, paint, electrics, servicing, tyres and more. The type decides which workshops receive the request.

  3. Photos and description

Take photos of the damage or the warning light and describe what happens: noises, when it started, whether the car still drives. The more detail, the more accurate the quote.

  4. Location

Use GPS or type the address where the car is. The request goes to the shops whose service radius covers that spot.

  5. Review and send

Check everything and send. The shops are notified immediately and start preparing their quotes.

Until you accept a quote, you can edit the request (photos, description) or cancel it. If a review of a previous service is still pending, you are asked for it before the new request.

3. Compare the quotes

Each quote arrives separately, from a different shop, and shows: total price, items (parts and labour), lead time, warranty, validity, the time slots when the shop can take the car and the rating given by other drivers.

  • Quality — Shop with an average rating of 4 stars or more from drivers' reviews.
  • Works with your insurer — Shown when the repair goes through insurance and the shop works with your insurer.
  • Price adjustment — Transparency: if the shop has already revised an accepted quote, you see how much the price changed compared with the original (for example, "12% higher").

Have questions? Tap "Message the repair shop": each shop has its own conversation with you, and the others cannot see it. Quotes you are not interested in can be declined.

4. Accept and book

When you accept a quote, you pick the drop-off time on the same screen from the slots the shop offered (today or in the next few days).

  1. Choose the slot

Tap the day and the period you want. Slots that have already passed are not shown.

  2. Accept

The shop is notified immediately. The other quotes for that request are closed.

  3. Drop off the car

The shop's address and the time stay on the request page. If you need to change it, use "Reschedule appointment".

If you do not show up, the shop can record the no-show: the slot is released and the request goes back to you to pick again.

5. Follow the repair

When the car arrives, the shop checks it in and you start seeing each step on the request page, with a notification on the site:

  • Received and diagnosis — The car is in the shop and being assessed.
  • Awaiting parts / In progress — Shows whether the repair is on hold waiting for parts or under way. Pauses are shown too.
  • Final testing — The work is done and being checked.
  • Ready for collection — You get a notification to pick up the car.
  • Delivered — The shop marks it when you collect the car. If it does not, the car counts as delivered after 5 days.

Notifications are in the bell (at the top of the screen) and on the notifications page.

6. If the shop asks to change the price

Sometimes, once the car is opened up, the shop finds something that could not be seen before. Even so, it cannot simply charge more: it has to send a quote revision, with the reason, the new items and the new price. Nothing changes without your decision.

  • Approve — The new price applies. The original price stays on record and is shown next to the quote.
  • Decline and collect my car — The service is closed and you arrange the pick-up in the conversation. You may be charged for work already done, as agreed with the shop.

BipFix keeps track of each shop's price revisions. Shops that ask for increases often or that ask for very large ones are reviewed by our team.

7. Review the service

After delivery, review the shop. Your review helps other drivers and is requested before your next request; the "I've just crashed" button is never blocked.

  1. Rating from 1 to 5 stars

For the overall quality of the service.

  2. Comment

Say how it went: timing, price, service, result.

  3. Publication

The review appears on the shop's public profile and counts towards its average rating. You can edit it later.

8. Warranty and conversation after delivery

The warranty stated in the quote starts counting when the car is delivered.

  • Countdown on the home screen — You see how many warranty days are left for each job. Tap the countdown to open the request with its full history and message the workshop.
  • Open conversation — The conversation with the chosen shop stays open until the warranty ends. Conversations with the other shops are closed when the service is over.
  • History — Under History you find every service, with quote, steps and review.

9. Accident: the "I've just crashed" button

For when you have just crashed your car. It works even without an account and shows what to do according to the country where the accident happened, in your language.

  1. Tap the red button

It is on the home page and on your dashboard.

  2. Photos and location

Photograph the damage right away. GPS finds the address and the nearby shops that do bodywork.

  3. Who pays for the repair

The other driver's insurance, your own comprehensive (kasko) insurance or you. You can fill this in later. If your insurance is from another country, we show you how the Green Card works.

  4. Quotes

Nearby shops receive the request with priority. The car details can be completed later on the request page.

If anyone is injured, call 112 first. Your safety comes first.

10. Costs, account and privacy

  • Free for drivers — Requesting and comparing quotes costs nothing, and BipFix adds nothing to the quoted price. You only pay for the service, directly to the shop.
  • Your data — Your contact details are only visible to the shops involved in your requests, never to the public. See the details in the Privacy Policy.
  • Delete the account — Under Profile (or on the "Delete account" page). With no completed services, everything is erased. With services, your personal data is anonymised and only the service record remains, without your name.
